Currently dog adoptions are $85 and cat adoptions are $75. Any animal under the age of 1 years old will require a $50 cash deposit, refunded at the time of surgery for spay or neuter.
The shelter encourages owners to bring current dogs for meet-and-greet with any of our dogs.
Unfortunately, the shelter does not have a vet on staff. It is recommended to call a local veterinarian.
A 3-day stray hold means the shelter will keep the animal for at least 3 days in order to attempt to contact the owner. If the owner does not contact the shelter to make arrangements, the animal is then eligible for adoption.
Microchipping helps identify the current owner of the animal. A collar or tag can fall off. A microchip is a permanent implantation of identification for that animal. It is important to keep your contact information up-to-date with the microchip company.
In order to implant a microchip, a small pinch with a needle inserts a chip under the skin about the size of a grain of rice. Most animals do not realize that they are getting microchipped The whole procedure takes less than 2 minutes.
