- Families are welcome to volunteer!
- Walk dogs on shelter paths. (20 minutes)
- Walk small dogs or senior dogs around the shelter
- Socialize puppies (no walking)
- Walk dogs and/or man the Humane Society float in local parades
- Take dogs to the dog park
- Take dogs to off-site adoption events.
Cat Cuddling is another opportunity – and equally important – that is wonderful for folks who aren’t up for walks:
- Cuddle cats
- Socialize kittens
We train and mentor new volunteers (a handbook is in the works) so you will become a valued member of the team. If interested, or have questions, call the shelter manager or email: sheltermgr@hslcnm.org.
